Beta phase – Agentic Learning in action

New to SynteaNext? Start with our recent post. This article dives into what we’re testing in Beta and why it matters for the future of agentic learning.

SynteaNext Beta: Early pilot and roll-out

Traditional rule-based platforms struggle to personalise at scale; our Beta tests how an agentic model fixes that. With 150 active pilot users and rapid expansion plans, we’re putting our agent architecture through its paces. Beta users experience SynteaOS’s agent architecture, MicroApps, and multimodal inputs—from text-based learning to interactive quizzes, chapter reading, and upcoming podcast and video integrations. Technical deep-dives live in our overview post.

What We’re Validating

At the heart of our Beta lies a fundamental question: can agentic conversations truly drive deeper learning? We’re measuring this through message volume and session duration, but the real test comes when students start asking follow-up questions that reveal genuine engagement.

Habit formation is another critical area, and we’re taking a reward-based approach. Our MicroApp-powered routines help students maintain consistent study patterns through smart notifications, progress tracking, and visual feedback. Imagine completing a study session and seeing your progress bar rise, or receiving a notification that celebrates your consistency streak. The system’s stability under real-world conditions is equally crucial—can our architecture handle the unpredictable patterns of actual learning sessions across different content types, especially as we scale from 150 to potentially 10,000 users?

What’s in This Beta Build

This Beta introduces several key features that transform how students interact with their learning materials. Threaded conversations allow for complex discussions without losing context—imagine following a debate about quantum mechanics while still keeping track of the original question.

Our Launch Cards and Quiz MicroApp bring interactive learning directly into the chat interface, eliminating the need to switch between different platforms. The Progress-tracker MicroApp provides real-time visualization of learning milestones, giving students immediate feedback on their journey. And it’s not just about text—students can engage with book chapters, take quizzes, and soon, access podcasts and videos, all within the same intuitive interface. Currently, we run with 150 pilot users, with plans to expand to 10,000 users in the coming weeks, pending successful testing.

Early Beta Signals

While our initial sample of 150 users is still small for data driven insights, early directional data shows promise: Student satisfaction with SynteaNext is high, 85% do not want to switch back to the classic Syntea experience, end engagement is at least twice as high. Users particular praise the “reward-based “smarter and more individual answers of Syntea”, and the Quiz learning mode with detailed explanations.

Why This Matters

The implications of successful Beta testing extend far beyond our current user base. Scalable personalization means we can bring quality mentorship to thousands of learners without requiring linear growth in teaching staff. The operational efficiency gains are equally significant—imagine a single conversational interface handling both academic queries and administrative needs, reducing the complexity of managing multiple specialist systems.

Perhaps most exciting is how this system future-proofs learning. As educational needs evolve, our self-improving architecture adapts automatically, learning from each interaction to better serve the next student. And with our reward-based approach to habit formation, we’re not just teaching content—we’re helping students build lasting learning habits that extend beyond their time with SynteaNext.

What’s Next

Our journey continues with rapid expansion: from 150 to 1,000 users this week, and potentially 10,000 in the coming weeks. Phase III, planned for H2 2025, will bring full mobile roll-out, advanced analytics capabilities, and expanded multimedia content including podcasts and video learning modules. By 2026, we aim to make SynteaNext available to all IU students and partner institutions.
